Academus emerged from the pursuit of discovering why school didn’t really educate people. An education aims to create free and informed individuals, yet our school system dulls the imagination, fills one’s mind with useless facts, and creates obedient individuals incapable of living independent livelihoods. Are you content to settle for mediocre?
What is Academus?
Long ago in Ancient Greece, the dictator of Syracuse, Dion, purchased groves for the philosopher Plato. These groves were known as Academus or Akademos. It was in these gardens Plato expounded his teachings. In a similar manner Academus provides you with an online garden educating you in ways inspired by the ancients themselves.
